The volunteers at Rocky Mountain Riding Therapy team up with our Path International certified riding instructors to ensure that each lesson is safe and fun, as well as physically and emotionally beneficial to the rider. Volunteers develop positive relationships with the students, which help build the confidence they need to improve their riding skills. RMRT is one of the few places where our riders, who often have overwhelming challenges, can feel like winners. We are extremely grateful to have volunteers who help with lessons, care for the therapy horses, and make our program possible. A BIG thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers!
If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact the barn at (303) 494-1299 or email us at volunteer@rmridingtherapy.org.
If you are 14 years or older and interested in volunteering at Rocky Mountain, we would like you to attend a Volunteer Orientation and Training session. These workshops are held on the 3rd Saturday of February, April, June, August and October from 11:30 am until 3:30 pm. Training will be limited to 10 signups.
Please sign up below for the next available training session and bring your completed application form to the Volunteer Training.
RMRT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit therapeutic horseback riding program located in south Boulder. Our program relies heavily upon volunteers and donations to provide our services to our riders at a reasonable cost and to keep our special horses happy and healthy.
Being around horses positively affects people. Riding can improve strength, balance, postural control, muscle tone, coordination, sensory processing, speech, motor development, cognitive development, confidence and emotional well being, among other things.
