Meet Our Team

  • Lindsay Heger

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Lindsay grew up in Colorado and rode through college. She completed her bachelors at CU and her graduate work at UC, San Diego. For nearly a dozen years she has worked with non-profits around the world and locally. She is driven to create sustainable, scalable, and impactful non profit organizations. Lindsay is very excited to bring her expertise and love for horses to help the wonderful team at RMRT fulfill their mission to help all individuals reach their fullest potential. When she is not at RMRT, Lindsay is usually on the side of a field cheering for her kids, skiing, traveling, or running with her dog.

  • Katie Westerberg

    PROGRAM MANAGER

Katie grew up around horses, showing competitively in various western disciplines for 20+ years. She is excited to get to reconnect with her passion for horses here at RMRT. In her free time, she loves camping with her teenage daughters, Talley and Drue, and her two French Bulldogs.

  • Michelle Rickel

    LIVE-IN RANCH HAND

Michelle started as a volunteer in the therapeutic riding program at RMRT in February 2016 because it combined two things she’s passionate about - working with kids and working with horses. When RMRT began offering Equine-Assisted Learning to at-risk youth, she volunteered in that program as well and it ignited a passion in her to continue working in equine assisted services. She is now in graduate school to gain clinical licensure so that she can provide counseling to youth in both equine and academic settings. Michelle loves working with the members of RMRT’s collaborative interdisciplinary team who all prioritize the heath of the herd while pursuing a common mission to serve the community. She believes she would not be on the road she is on without her meaningful experiences at RMRT.
